A reflection on the passing time. Happy birthday to young Miss Edwards! I think you managed to pack more cultural feasting in one week than most people do in their lifetimes.
Well done to the Edwards clan!

So how much is it for getting you to keep your clothes on?
PS YOu would have to go to Design Wizard and change your design template. That grey background is due to your chosen design template, I believe in my great and unlimited IT wizzardy. more…

You're very generous in your praise - thank you! (I actually think most people don't pay specifically to hear me sing - but they are keen on supporting the charities for which I occasionally perform, bless 'em!). However, you've hit on a great idea - I think people would pay me to keep my clothes ON.
The new colour scheme might be i more…

As much as you are not 30 years younger, you are definitely talented as otherwise they wouldn't pay to hear you sing. Believe me, no one would pay to hear me sing even if I took all my clothes off!
You also have a great talent telling those stories, reviewing and giving very engaging critiques.
New colours on your blog! B more…

OH dear, that was so hilarious I think I peed in my pants!
On the issue of pouring orange juice over your cornflakes, I actually made myself a bowl of cornflakes with lovely warm milk and... promptly tipped it all out in the rubbish bin (to my utter shock two seconds later). True story. I am getting very old.

It must have been flattering to discover peacocks find you a threat to their exclusive status!

Why thank you Anna, that was lovely (you have such a lovely voice!) And no, I'm not so stressed - just a little nervous ahead of my charity recital tomorrow - it looks like we've sold out, so it will be a full house! more…

A good question. I'm not really sure why I want to do a diploma - perhaps it gives me the illusion of making progress? And no: at my age a professional singing career (even if I had a good enough voice) is extremely unlikely. I will always be just a keen amateur! more…

What an interesting thought - it might solve the arts funding problems at a stroke. Seriously though, opera often reflects the fascinations of its time, and perhaps in this age of celebrity cults, a contemporary opera about La Ciccone would be an instant hit. Where to start though...rebellion, scandal, religion, marriage, adoptions, divorce, re-inv more…

Thanks - I'll try that next time! I suppose I shouldn't really take the credit for making up the music as what I sang was loosely based on what Verdi wrote. But as the great Eric Morecambe once said, it was a case of "all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order". more…

Sorry to hear about your daughter - I hope she's feeling better soon. Don't worry about us 'artistes' - suffering, self-doubt and angst are good for our souls and our creative output!
